Equal Pay VS Pay Equity

In order to ensure pathways to advancement are equitable for all, we must understand the difference between equal pay & pay equity.

Equal Pay focuses on women and men doing the same work, in the same positions, and has been a law since 1963 (Equal Pay Act).

Pay Equity is an analysis that looks at equal pay for equal work but goes further to consider where underrepresented groups sit in an organization, helping us understand the power gaps that exist.
