Samet Volunteers at Juneteenth SOULebration at GSO Farmers Market

About

On Thursday, June 19, Samet proudly participated in the Juneteenth SOULebration at the Greensboro Farmers Market—a vibrant event honoring Black culture, heritage, and freedom. It was a powerful day of community, connection, and service, and we were honored to support it.

Samet organized 20 volunteers, working in three shifts to ensure the event’s success. Our team assisted vendors with early morning setup, passed out water and electrolyte packs in the midday heat, and provided a fan-cooled relaxation station for guests. As the celebration concluded, our volunteers helped with breakdown and cleanup.

We were also proud to partner with local organizations who contributed essential resources:

  • Piedmont Disposal and ABS generously donated porta potties and handwashing stations, helping create a more comfortable and sanitary environment for guests.
  • Sunbelt Rentals provided the high-powered fan that kept our cooling station running all day.

The event’s organizers, Noélle Hairston of SOULebration Events, shared her appreciation:

“Your presence was felt everywhere—because of your hands, your hearts, and your willingness to serve.”

We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful celebration and look forward to returning next year.
