Women Leading Women: Event Recap

About

On October 31st, Women at Work hosted “Women Leading Women: Career Growth, Self-Advocacy, and Everything in Between” with Shannon Harris (Senior Project Executive) and Keli Wright (Senior Project Manager).

Shannon and Keli shared honest insights on navigating career advancement as women in construction—from documenting your wins and translating collaborative work into measurable impact, to having the hard conversations that move your career forward. The discussion covered real-world strategies for identifying growth opportunities, taking ownership of your career path, and advocating for yourself in an industry that doesn’t always make it easy.

The takeaway? Leadership isn’t about waiting for permission—it’s about showing up prepared, making your contributions visible, and being intentional about the conversations you have with your managers and mentors.
